Drive to
Torre del Greco passing through Vesuvius National Park up to 1000 meter,
to the top of the only still active volcano of continental Europe. Walk
around the crater at 1200 meter to see the charming bay of Naples from
east to west.
Transfer to Pompeii and enjoy exploring the most fascinating
places of Pompeii. The city rises on a plateau of Vesuvian lava,
overlooking the Sarno river valley, at whose mouth was once a busy port.
The oldest reports of the city date from the end of 7th and the first half
of 6th cent.BC. A mixed civilization which blended Etruscans and Greek
elements.
See the Forum, the Thermal Baths, Vetti's House,
Temple of Venus, Temple of Apollo, the Basilica, the Temple of Jupiter,
see the bodies in the Forum Granary. Do not forget to visit the beautiful
House of Faun and the extraordinary frescoes at Villa of Mysteries.
